I have some Hoggard relatives that were living just to the North of the Dr. Askew where you found the cemetary. The place was called Pitch Landing on early maps and is on the head of Wiccacon river. Some of the early Hoggard from there are Clemmons Outler Hoggard who migrated to Arkansas and Rev Thomas Hoggard who was ordained in Gates Co and remained on that farm and is buried there. The Outlaws must have owned land near present day Beauna Vista just west of Askewville. They donated the land for the Holly Grove Baptist church about 3 miles north. They are tied in with a lot of the families in between these places.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04374135470898634707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1998448433534729437.post-44482640452418441682018-11-05T20:04:27.574-08:002018-11-05T20:04:27.574-08:00WOW!! We are related to and descended from the very first Askews who immigrated here from England. Grandma said that her ancestors were originally from Pennsylvania. I learned last year at our family reunion that our direct ancestor was William Askew of North Carolina, who was a Revolutionary War veteran. I'm still researching to establish direct linkages, but you may be a distant cousin of mine! My Grandmother's maiden name was Mary Mildred Askew. You may contact me anytime to correspond!

Ms. Susan Spreitzer
bannerline1009@gmail.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
